Ride with Us to Yosemite to Support National Park Rangers of Mongolia! Saturday, March 29-30, 2014
Join a hosted motorcycle ride from San Francisco to the entrance of Yosemite National Park, enjoy Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort hospitality, and contribute to the purchase of motorcycles for Lake Hovsgol National Park Rangers of Mongolia. Three times as large as Yosemite, Lake Hovsgol is one of the last pristine freshwater lakes left in the world. All profits from this event will help fund the effort to preserve this natural wonder. Accommodations are available from Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort and must be reserved in advance. The resort has a variety of accommodations from single beds, tent cabins, private rooms and private group cabins. Camp sites also available. Please call 866-826-7108 to make a reservation. Click here to see a site map. Food, drinks and live music will be provided by Whiskey in My Pocket and the Gravel Spreaders. $25 registration fee required.
We are expecting over 150 riders to participate. The rally is being led by Josh Prentiss and he has created a fun and scenic route through the backroads leading to the resort near the entrance to Yosemite National Park. All riders need to meet at Java House Restaurant at Pier 40 on the Embarcadero, San Francisco at 8:00 AM to sign in, get a map, information packet and phone numbers to the support vehicles in case of motorcycle problems. Come early if you want breakfast. Departure time is 8:30 AM SHARP. All participating riders will also need to bring a $25 donation when they sign up as well as a drivers/M1 license and proof of insurance and will need to sign a waiver.
Accommodations provided by Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort. We recommend that riders call the resort to book their rooms ASAP for March 29th and mention they are in the rally to secure accommodations. Click here to see a site map. Tucked away on its own bend along the stream, perched under a grove of black oaks, the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort is located only 26 miles away from Yosemite Valley along California’s scenic Highway 140. The Bug offers a relaxed and social atmosphere where families, backpackers and international travelers all find welcome and a variety of affordable accommodations and amenities a resort would have. The resort has a variety of accommodations from single beds in a dormitory, single and group tent cabins, private rooms and private group cabins. First come first served so booking early is recommended. Overflow will have campsites on site and will need to bring camping gear. Food & Beverages
Food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase both days. The Cafe at the Bug Restaurant has an excellent menu featuring locally sourced game and fish and also features vegetarian and vegan options (including a kid’s menu).
Free live music will be provided by the Gravel Spreaders—a San Francisco-based band that twists hard rock cover songs into boot-stomping bluegrass tunes. Additional live music provided by Whiskey in My Pocket.
All profits from the event will help fund motorcycles and basic field equipment purchases for 15 rangers at Lake Hovsgol, Mongolia, a new entrance station, and exhibits in the park. Your support is greatly appreciated!
